His fake tenderness, promises, and forever.
Every sweet word, every soft look is nothing more than a prettified lie.
I gave him one last call just before dawn.
Go straight to voicemail.
I stared at the screen, breathing slowly, and set two files to post.
Saying goodbye in my own voice.
And a full video of my wolfsbane antidote research, complete with time-stamped logs to prove it was mine.
The sun was just breaking over the horizon when I hit the post button.
I deleted everything—contacts, photos, and messages.
Every lie. Every false memory.
Gone.

Meanwhile, Ethan pulled himself away from Riley.
“I need to go. It’s Lizzy’s anniversary. I promised her that we’d watch the sunrise.
Riley grabbed his arm in desperation.
“Ethan, I need you too…”
He shook her off, “I’ll come back after.”
Just as he turned to leave, his Beta’s voice slammed into his head via the mind-link, causing panic.
“Ethan! It’s Lizzy; something happened! She took the yacht out, and there was a tsunami!”
Ethan froze, disbelief consuming him.
“Impossible! We were supposed to celebrate her birthday. How the hell did this happen?!”
His Beta’s mind-link reappeared, grim and heavy.
“The crew claimed she took the yacht out alone. She looked. Really down. Then she disappeared for the entire night.
“Later, a tsunami smashed through that area. They found the boat-wrecked from the waves. But no sign-”
“Impossible!” Ethan interrupted him, his voice sharp and shaking. “I don’t believe it! Why would she sail off alone?! Why didn’t the crew call me?!”
The Beta hesitated before answering, his voice low. “They tried… all night. But your phone was off.”
Ethan’s gaze shifted to his phone screen, which was dead and black.
He shook his hands and pressed the power button.
As it booted up, his gaze froze over and locked on Riley.
“Did you turn it off?” he demanded.
Riley flinched, but quickly covered it with fake calm.
“Why would I? Maybe it shut off by accident… or the battery died. You can’t pin this on me.”
Her voice dripped with wounded innocence, as if she hadn’t touched anything.
Ethan did not even respond.
His pupils narrowed, and his muscles tightened.
Then he bolted for the dock, quick and lethal, like a black arrow slicing through the night.

The yacht had already been dragged ashore.
Silver Moon Guards circled the wreck and questioned the crew.
One of them broke away and approached, voice heavy.
“We did not find your mate onboard; crew and surveillance confirm that the yacht went straight into the tsunami zone.
“The destruction is bad. Search and rescue will not be easy.”
Ethan stumbled back, his voice hollow.
“She refused… “She would not do that.”
The guard gave him a hard look.
“Has anything happened recently that could have affected her wolf?”
Ethan shook his head, feeling numb.
“She has been… calm. “Nothing unusual.”
His beta leaned in, whispering softly.
“She left something on the pack feed.”
Ethan fumbled with his mobile.
The moment he logged in, it hit him like a gut punch.
