There was no response, and his brow furrowed in frustration. “Daisy, are you deaf or what?””
After a long pause, he finally got up and realised I had been gone for quite some time; his face instantly darkened. “You better stay hidden forever, Daisy.” I’m confident you’ll crawl back eventually.”
He grabbed his phone and sent a furious message: “Fine.” You are no longer my mate. Come take your junk out of my home!”
He didn’t care if I responded or not and stormed towards the door, ready to leave, but when he opened it, he saw my parents standing there.
In just a few days, their hair had turned snow-white, and their faces were gaunt with grief. I stood behind Damon, tears streaming uncontrollably down my cheeks.
He froze for a moment. “It’s you two?”
My father clutched Damon’s arm: “The victim from the missing persons website… Was it Daisy? She has not contacted us in a long time.
“Daisy would never act like this. She’s always been such a sweet and obedient girl. Something must’ve happened to her.”
My mother stood silently, her handkerchief soaked in tears. I wept while watching them. In this world, my parents were the only ones who truly loved me.
Damon sighed with irritation. “What could’ve happened to her? She’s just hiding, throwing a tantrum. And whatever she does has nothing to do with me. I’m done with her!”
My father lowered his head and prepared to beg on his knees. Damon quickly apprehended him.
“What are you doing?”
“I beg you, please help us find Daisy; she has gone missing.
“If you can contact her, please let her know that we are concerned about her health. No matter what has happened, our doors will remain open for her.”
Tears streamed down my cheeks, and I sincerely regretted everything.
I regretted ever meeting Damon and everything that had happened, especially the terrible fight I had with my father before I died.
It was all because, after years of meeting Damon, he still refused to come home with me to formally meet my parents. My father advised me not to keep compromising like this, but instead of listening, I lashed out at them and had a huge argument. They only wanted the best for me, and I was a fool. Watching their hunched figures leaning on each other as they walked away, I felt nothing but searing hatred.
My hatred for Damon, Mira, and Adrian was intense, but the person I despised the most was myself.
Damon closed the door and stood there, frowning for a moment, before picking up his phone and calling me, which was still unanswered and went straight to voicemail.
“Daisy, please stop this already. Your parents are old, but they still worry about you. Don’t you have a conscience?” He hung up and stormed off to the patrol unit, where he ran into Anthony, who informed him that the patrol officers staking out Adrian’s location said he hadn’t returned.
Damon shook his head, “There’s something strange about that man. If he is innocent, why hasn’t he shown up?”
Anthony nodded. “Exactly. Adrian has been identified as a primary suspect. “A citywide manhunt is underway.”
Damon sighed and asked if anyone else had reported a missing daughter.”
Anthony shook her head. “A few families did, but I’ve already had them come in and identify the body. They all claimed it wasn’t their daughter.
Damon frowned. “Right now, our top priority is apprehending Adrian.” “Once we get him, the entire case will unravel.”
Just then, a patrol officer charged in.
