Lone Wolf – Chapter 8

I stared at her, my voice shaky but firm.

“Was it you who hid the poisoned needles inside your birthday dress?”

Her smirk broadened. Without blinking, she replied—

“Of course it was me. I did it. And yes-falling from the roof? That was no accident either. I planned every step.”

“I could even fake an allergy-just by taking some special meds,” she hissed with a twisted grin.

“I’m not sorry for what I did. I had to do it. And I don’t regret any of it. I’ll do anything to destroy you, Liora—until you stop competing for their love!”

“For you, death is the best ending.”

She leaned in, her voice full of venom.

“Oh? You look furious. What now? Do you think you can kill me?”

My entire body trembled. Her poisonous words echoed in my mind like a curse.

Fury coursed through my veins, mingling with the agony ravaging my body. I couldn’t hold back any longer. I gritted my teeth, summoned my last bit of strength, and whispered:

“Vivienne… you’re shameless.”

Her face twisted with rage. The next second, a crack echoed throughout the room–she slapped me so hard that I collapsed on the cold floor.

My vision was swallowed up by the darkness. And then, I passed out.

She kicked me even after I fainted on the ground, then turned away with a cold smirk, as if she had already won.

But she didn’t realise…

I had a tiny camera hidden in the corner, quietly recording everything.

After a long time, I regained consciousness. Every bone in my body ached, and my wolf could barely breathe. I dragged myself up with trembling legs, each breath a struggle. My fingers shook as I opened a mind-link with Arthur, whispering with all the strength I could muster:

“Come get the camera. See the truth… with your own eyes.”

It was my last day in this world, and I could feel it in my bones.

But if I had to die, I would at least take the lies along with me.

So I stepped out into the cold, stormy night. My legs barely supported me, but I refused to stop.

Step by step, I vanished into the infinite darkness.

I crept towards the grave with my last breath, whispering to the guard in a voice that was too faint to be heard.

“Please… burn me… and scatter my ashes into the sea…”

As soon as those words left my mouth, I closed my eyes. And everything went dark.

My soul slowly moved away from my broken body… I returned to the place I once called home.

Arthur burst into the den, dripping with sweat and panic.

But before he could say anything, my mother snapped impatiently:

“Who knows what kind of trick that cunning Liora is playing again? She actually asked you to go see her alone! She must be scheming to frame Vivienne again!”

“Vivienne’s parents gave their lives protecting this pack when she was just a pup. And what does Liora do in return? Instead of tolerating her, she targets her every chance she gets!”

“Vivienne has always given her a chance to make amends, but she never took it. Honestly, she’s nothing but a disappointment!”
