I held my lower abdomen and felt a warm feeling between my legs. I cried out, “Ryder…”
He quickly hung up and said, “It’s the school calling.” One of the pup got hurt in a fight. I need to go to the hospital right away. “I’ll talk to you when I get back.”
He turned and ran out right away.
I could barely hold on as I dialled the healer’s number.
I woke up again in the hospital. The healer had the test results and said, “You’re six weeks pregnant.” You didn’t know?”
“How can that be?””I was shocked. My uterus was hurt. I can’t get pregnant!”
She looked at me with a blank face and said, “The results show that your uterus was hurt at some point.” But over the years, it has slowly gotten better. It hasn’t fully healed yet. Unfortunately, you were too upset. It caused a miscarriage.”
When I heard the healer’s words, I felt unbearable sadness.
My dog!
I lost my puppy before I even knew it.
My body shook with grief, and the pain got worse. I was even more determined to say no to Ryder.
I sat up and looked at my phone after the healer left. Ryder hadn’t called me at all. It had been a whole night since he left the house by that time.
It was a new day, and I was about to begin a new life.
That afternoon, I was able to leave the hospital.
I saw Ryder at the hospital entrance. He was holding a small she-wolf in his arms, and she was holding on to his neck tightly.
“Please don’t leave us again, Daddy.””
“Okay, Olivia. Let’s go get you out of here.
When he turned around, his eyes met mine directly. He looked scared right away.
“Zoe, what are you doing here?”” he asked.
“Why?” I can’t be here?”I asked without emotion.
“I already told you that the pup won’t bother you at all.” Ryder said angrily, “You will always be the Luna.”
The little she-wolf in his arms suddenly started to cry. Olivia Jones screamed, “You’re a bad person!” You took my dad! My classmates made fun of me and said I didn’t have a dad. It’s all your fault!”
She fought against Ryder and threw the bottle she was holding at me.
The werewolves around us were pointing at us and whispering to each other. Ryder stayed quiet and looked angry.
I stepped up and hit Olivia.
She almost fell out of Ryder’s arms and onto the ground.
Ryder yelled, “Are you out of your mind, Zoe? She’s only a puppy! How could you hit her? As expected of a female wolf who has never had a baby. Is that why you can be so cold-hearted?”
His words cut into my heart like a knife.
I smirked and said, “Yeah, I’m heartless, all right. But I still can’t compare to the brat who’s acting like a whore!”
“That’s enough!”” Ryder said with a huff.
Olivia pulled on Ryder’s hand and said softly, “Don’t be mad, Daddy.” I did it. I shouldn’t have fought just because my classmates made fun of me for not having a dad. I just wanted you to be with us more.
I watched the scene play out like a dramatic soap opera and clapped for Olivia’s performance. “As expected of the daughter of the homewrecker.” What a great show.
Ryder yelled at me, “You’re too much!” and I was furious. She’s just a puppy!”
