I was so angry that I slapped Ryder hard across the face. “Put a leash on your illegitimate pup.” You better not make me angry again before we say no!”
I had never been a cowardly wolf as the princess of the Iceclaw pack. Anyone who hurt me would pay the price. After I slapped Ryder, I turned and walked away. Olivia screamed and Ryder yelled at me. I could hear the cameras clicking away as the other werewolves talked.
Chloe wanted to use her pup to make me do something? Well, she was about to get her wish.
That afternoon, word got out to a lot of nearby packs that Alpha Ryder had cheated on his Luna and had pup. Pictures of Chloe and the twins also spread quickly.
The pack elders yelled at me right away. “Zoe, you are already Luna!” Will you only stop when Alpha Ryder has no heirs?
Chloe was a princess from a small pack that was lower in rank than the Nightgale Pack. Her affair with Ryder made all of our other subordinate packs angry. She had betrayed the pack’s Luna and deserved to be punished.
Three days later, Ryder came back.
He looked tired and angry. “Zoe, I’ve sent the pup and Chloe away. They will never come back to our pack. Is this enough for you?”
“Chloe was not honest with Luna. Shouldn’t she leave the group?”I shot back.”
“What did she do that was wrong? She just wanted to be there for me. “You can’t be an Alpha without heirs,” Ryder said back.
I looked at him coldly but didn’t say anything.
Ryder then said, “This has caused a lot of trouble in the subordinate packs. You are the pack’s Luna. “I need your help this time.” “Do you really think I care about being Luna?””I said back.
“I know you care more about me, but the problems in our relationship are already fixed. The Nightgale Pack will be in a lot of trouble if all of the subordinate packs turn against us. “Please help me clean this up,” Ryder said.
His affair with Chloe had already hurt his reputation with the subordinate packs. If he did nothing, the subordinate packs would start to rebel, and the Nightgale Pack would be open to attacks from other packs.
I looked at him with a sneer and said, “How do you want to clear it up?””
He calmed down and looked at me softly. “Just say we’ve already turned each other down.” We can say we’re friends again once the crisis is over.
I had to laugh. “Okay, let’s move on to the rejection now.”
Ryder’s face stiffened for a moment. Then he said no. “No, we can’t break our mate bond.”
Without thinking, I cut him off. “You want to protect the pack and keep your heirs at the same time. We can only use this against each other if we really don’t want to, right?”
Ryder got up in a rage. “Shut up!” I will never agree to it.
I didn’t say anything and just looked back at him. He slowly calmed down.
Ryder stepped forward and tried to hug me, but I moved out of the way. He stopped and looked hurt.
“Zoe, you should know that I care about you. Please believe me. Ryder said tiredly, “I’ll give you an even bigger wedding when this crisis is over.”
I nodded without saying a word, agreeing to his offer. As soon as he left, I took out the potion I had hidden.
Dad told Jake to get me a witch’s potion after he found out Ryder had betrayed me. Drinking it would let me break the mate bond.
