I sighed heavily. “John, I’m not thinking about getting married again right now. I hope you can focus on our partnership for now.”
“Of course,” John said, pulling away with a fake-casual smile. I’ll show you how well we can work together. For now, keeping John’s aggressive pursuit at bay gave me a brief moment of relief.
The next day, John and I called the leaders of both of our packs together to talk about how we would work together. “We’re very happy to have you as our partner.” I said, “I think this agreement will be a good start for both of us.”
John and I led the way, and the wolves we were in charge of followed closely behind, cheering for the cooperation that was about to start.
“Maybe we should throw a party around a bonfire to celebrate?””John smiled in a way that made him look charming.
“Of course!””Right away, my assistant agreed. Then he started putting it together.
“Let’s go to the plaza.” “Tonight’s full moon will be the perfect witness for our new beginnings,” I said with a smile as I led everyone to the plaza to start our celebration under the full moon.
The plaza was lit up by the moonlight. The Iceclaw pack and the Starhollow pack drank wine and ate food while dancing to the music.
“May I have this dance, dear beautiful Zoe?”John held out his hand and looked at me with love and interest in his silver eyes.
“I’d be happy to,” I said right away.
That night, the moonlight was magical and very beautiful. I couldn’t help but say yes to his invitation right away.
John put his hand on my waist, and I could feel a steady flow of warmth coming from his palm. It set my body on fire. “Zoe, tonight is our first date with the Moon Goddess as our witness,” he whispered in my ear.
“A date in the middle of a crowd?””
“What could be better than having both of our packs see our first date?””
I smiled and didn’t fight with him. I let him get close to me and enjoyed the romantic mood that night.
The Nightgale Pack took a big hit right after we started working together.
The Starhollow pack took over their subordinate packs one at a time and took over their territory. They then cut off all of their other alliances, leaving the Nightgale Pack completely alone.
A week later, Ryder angrily stormed into the Iceclaw pack to face me.
“Do you really have to go this far, Zoe? That was also your pack back then!”Ryder was furious.
“But it isn’t now. I said, “I’m a wolf from the Iceclaw pack now.”
“I’ve already begun making plans for our wedding. Come back with me, Zoe. I know you still love me, and everyone else misses you.
Ryder got in touch with me. But just before he could touch me, John came out of nowhere and hit his hand away.
He made a face. “What do you plan to do to my future Luna, Alpha Ryder?”
John stood next to me and held my shoulders tightly while glaring daggers at Ryder.
Ryder yelled, “What did you say?” in disbelief.
“Zoe has already said yes to going out with me. Maybe you’ll hear about our wedding soon,” John said with love.
His voice was full of love, which made Ryder even more angry.
He asked me carefully, “Is it true?” and his lips shook.
“I’m single, so it’s only natural that I start dating other Alphas.” I looked at Ryder’s angry, broken face with cold eyes.
I didn’t want to deal with him anymore, so I turned to leave.
“Don’t you dare leave!” Ryder suddenly lunged forward and punched John in the face.
“Get the hell away from her!” John yelled. “She’s my Luna!”
